Quiksilver Festival in Hossegor: surf, music and skate below your windows

At the end of September, when summer lingers on the Landes coast, Hossegor’s central beach changes its look: a wooden judges’ tower, flags planted in the sand, a big white dome, a pop-up café and, out in the water, some of today’s best surfers. The Quiksilver Festival is back — and it takes place literally below the windows of our apartments. We were there on 22 September: here is what you need to know about the 2026 edition, and why you should already pencil in 2027.

What is the Quiksilver Festival?

Organised by Quiksilver with Swatch, the festival brings together nine days of top-level surfing, concerts, skateboarding, film screenings and art across three neighbouring towns: Hossegor, Capbreton and Seignosse. In its own way it carries on the spirit of the legendary Quiksilver Pro France, for many years a world tour stop in Hossegor: the best surfers on the waves of the Landes, the crowd at the water’s edge, and a party atmosphere that spills over into town. 2026 is the fourth edition.

The 2026 edition: 19 to 27 September

This year the festival runs from Saturday 19 to Sunday 27 September 2026. Every day, from 8 am to 6 pm, the surf sessions take place at La Nord, on Hossegor’s central beach. Among the announced guests: Kelly Slater, Olympic champion Kauli Vaast, Jérémy Florès, Coco Ho and Marco Mignot. On the skate side, Sky Brown, Gustavo Ribeiro and Vincent Milou are expected at the skateparks of Capbreton and Seignosse.

Concerts, skate and village life

The soundtrack is curated by So Me, the festival’s artistic director and a leading figure of the Ed Banger Records label. The big nights take place on Place des Landais, on Hossegor’s seafront, with the ocean as a backdrop. The 2026 highlights:

• Every day, 8 am to 6 pm: surfing at La Nord, Hossegor’s central beach.
• Saturday 19 September: Ed Banger opening party with Busy P and So Me, Place des Landais.
• Wednesday 23 September: Surf for All session in Capbreton, beach clean-up on the contest site, then a concert and signing session with Breakbot & Irfane and Marnie at the Quiksilver Store in Hossegor.
• Friday 25 September: skateboarding at the Capzoo skatepark in Capbreton, then the Quiksilver Festival Party on Place des Landais.
• Saturday 26 September: “Cash or Crash” skate jam at the Penon skatepark in Seignosse, then the closing party with MYD, Place des Landais.
• Sunday 27 September: final day of surfing.

Between sessions, the village moves at its own pace: pop-up café, Quiksilver & Roxy store, beach volleyball in the sand, deckchairs facing the waves. A shuttle links the tourist office, Place des Basques and the contest site throughout the festival. Front-row seats from our apartments

That is the privilege of staying on the seafront: our two apartments, on the 5th floor facing the central beach, overlook the festival village. Morning coffee while watching the first sets, a quiet break between sessions, a drink at sunset, then a concert on Place des Landais a few minutes’ walk away. Bringing your board? A private cellar is available on request to store it (boards are not allowed in the apartment), along with a secure bike room and the residence car park.

The dates of the fifth edition have not been announced yet. In recent years the festival has set up in Hossegor at the end of September, over nine days: 20 to 28 September in 2025, 19 to 27 September in 2026. If that pattern holds, it should return around 18 to 26 September 2027 — dates to be confirmed. We will update this article as soon as they are officially announced.
