Picture this: a November morning, you open the shutters and, right below your windows, Hossegor beach has turned into a racetrack. Roaring engines, sprays of sand, thousands of spectators along the dunes: this is the Ronde des Sables, one of the biggest sand races in Europe — and it takes place right at the foot of our apartments.

What is the Ronde des Sables?

The Ronde des Sables is a major sand race for motorcycles and quads, held every year on the beach of Hossegor-Capbreton. It is a championship stage of sand racing, bringing together around 950 riders across several events: espoirs, vintage, quads, juniors and motorcycles, from the youngest to seasoned riders. For one weekend, the beach becomes an open-air arena where the elite of the discipline compete, in a spectacular natural setting facing the Atlantic.

A show right below your windows

This is the real privilege of a beachfront stay: the race takes place on the central beach, exactly below the windows of our apartments. No need to elbow your way to a spot — you have the best seats in the house, warm, coffee in hand, with a sweeping view of the course, the starts and the jumps in the dunes. In the evening, the atmosphere carries on in the centre and at the port of Capbreton.
